Nestled in the heart of Los Angeles at 1776 Westwood Blvd, Sunnin Lebanese Cafe invites diners on an authentic journey through the vibrant flavors of Lebanese and Mediterranean cuisine. This welcoming eatery is a gem for both meat lovers and plant-based diners alike, offering a diverse menu that celebrates the rich tradition of Middle Eastern food with a contemporary touch.
The moment you step inside Sunnin Lebanese Cafe, the cozy yet lively atmosphere sets the perfect stage for indulging in their thoughtfully prepared dishes. Their menu bursts with colorful, fresh ingredients and offers an impressive range of options, from vegan delights like Warak Enab (vegan grape leaves) and Babaghanouj—silky roasted eggplant blended with tahini and lemon juice—to hearty specialties such as Lamb Kebab and the ever-popular Beef Shawarma Plate.
Each dish at Sunnin is a sensory experience. Imagine starting with a creamy, garlicky hummus topped with tender beef filet and toasted pine nuts (Hummus Kawarma), or savoring the smoky char of the grilled Kebbeh Makliyeh croquettes with minced beef and onions. The balance of fresh herbs in their tabouleh salad refreshes the palate, while the comforting notes from their slow-cooked String Beans Stew with lamb shanks transport you to a traditional Lebanese home kitchen. The variety is not only tantalizing but inclusive—vegan, vegetarian, and meat options all shine with authentic flavors.
Sunnin Lebanese Cafe also shines in the realm of casual and quick dining, making their wraps and sandwiches a popular choice. One memorable customer noted how their shawarma wraps are “really delicious,” though generously sauced and admittedly a bit messy—in the best kind of way, where every bite is bursting with savory goodness. For guests seeking a more composed meal, plates like Chicken Shawarma come accompanied by perfect pita and tahini, providing a harmonious blend of textures and tastes.
The care and professionalism of the staff enhance the dining experience, with diners consistently praising their politeness and attentiveness. Several visitors appreciate Sunnin’s dedication to maintaining high standards, clean facilities, and authentic flavors, with one reviewer calling it “the best Lebanese real taste food in LA and San Fernando Valley.” The friendly team often goes the extra mile—such as celebrating special occasions with complimentary birthday baklava, creating a warm, inviting vibe that keeps customers coming back.
Beyond the food itself, Sunnin’s inclusion of Mediterranean staples such as Turkish coffee, traditional Ousmaliyeh dessert, and even imported beers make it a well-rounded spot for those keen to explore a complete Lebanese dining experience. Whether you’re craving a sumptuous Mezza combo to share, a refreshing Labneh dip, or the tender smoky layers of a Lamb Kebab, Sunnin Lebanese Cafe effortlessly balances authenticity with approachability.
For visitors and locals alike, Sunnin Lebanese Cafe is not just a restaurant—it’s a flavorful passage into Lebanese culture, wrapped in generous hospitality and served with fresh, expertly crafted dishes that sing with spice and soul. A visit here promises a delicious adventure that satisfies hunger and warms the heart.
This place is decent. We ordered two shawarma wraps and a chicken plate. The wraps were really delicious, but they were overloaded with sauce and not wrapped well, you can’t eat them without getting your hands messy. The chicken plate was awesome, and the dip was perfect. They also have good Mediterranean options, even imported alcohol.
We love Sunnin; all of their food is delicious and they have great service. There are plenty of vegan and meat options, so it is the perfect spot for everyone. We love the hummus and lentil dishes. All the items we got were vegan.
Took my buddy here for a vegan birthday feast and everything was good! They even sang happy birthday and brought him a little birthday baklava with a candle on the house! Parking wasn’t bad for a weeknight
Great, professional, well trained and very polite team. Great food quality, best taste. Clean place and clean restrooms. Multiple visits and still the same great level. Best Lebanese real taste food in LA and San Fernando Valley. Price per person varies from $25 to $75, depending on quantity and if alcohol is ordered. Example grilled combo is good for 2 and is for only $36.
The food was so good I didn't even get photos Service was quick and friendly, the guys took very good care of me. The food had so much flavor and tasted very authentic. We ordered the cauliflower, combo plate and the lentils. Everything came out fresh and delicious. 10/10 will come again, and I'll make sure to add pics ahaha
This hole in the wall serves up deliciousness on every plate . Saw it randomly and was not disappointed . Nicely spiced . Friendly staff ! So fresh . The meats were tender .
The food was outstanding. Staff was friendly but not very attentive. The restaurant could use a refresh. Very little parking. Would definitely do take out in the future.
This is a gem of a restaurant! The food is insanely delicious and a great portion. The staff is also so quick, helpful, and friendly. Our waitress Juliette was the best. The kebab entrees are delicious and MAKE SURE to say yes to dessert. We can’t remember the name of the dessert we ate, but I believe it was called Layali? It was a rose and orange blossom flavored white cream with honey and pistachio (and was the best most unique dessert I’ve had in a long time).
